Red Cross Blood Drive needs help

Grove City Lodge  has a long history of hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on the  third Tuesday of each month, from 1-7pm. We typically have 2 volunteers each shift, from 1-3, 3-5, and 5-7. These positions help the Red Cross focus on what they do best:  collect blood. Our volunteers assist with patient check-in and provide refreshments for them when finished. We have a few faithful people who are very reliable in volunteering every month. Unfortunately, our volunteer pool for this event is getting shorter recently. Please consider donating your time to this worthy cause, as it is very easy work for you and benefits the Red Cross. You will be under no obligation to volunteer every month – you decide what suits you. The 5-7 slot is usually the hardest to fill but we could use “extras” for all times.

If you are interested, Bro. Bill Bell (Junior Deacon)  is our representative at this time. You may contact him directly, ask any officer to get in touch with him, or use the “contact us” page on this website and write a message to Bro. Mike Jaynes.

Thank You!

A Little Humor

Yes, even Masons have a sense of humor about our institution…

“How many Masons does it take to screw in a lightbulb?”

1. It’s a secret.

2. Three or more (that’s an “inside joke”).

3. You need a Secretary to read the minutes of the last light bulb changing, a Master Mason to change the light bulb, and a Past Master to sit on the sideline and say “That isn’t how we did it.”

4. Don’t change it! My grandfather donated that light bulb!

5.“Why change it…it always worked before?”

6. 20, as follows:

2 to complain that the light doesn’t work.
1 to pass the problem to either another committee, Temple Board or Master of
the Lodge.
3 to do a study on light in this Lodge.
2 to check out the types of lights the Knights of Columbus use.
3 to argue about it.
5 to plan a fund-raising dinner to raise money for the bulb.
2 to complain that “that’s not the way we did it before.”
1 to borrow a ladder, donate the bulb and install it.
1 to order the brass memorial plate and have it inscribed.
